EcoAmmo was started in June of 2006 by a design professional with a life long passion for the environment. Stephani Carter worked in the industry as an interior designer and recognized a need for a support service to help the sustainable design movement grow into part of everyday industry standard practice.

Stephani Carter is a LEED® Accredited Professional and a passionate Sustainable Building Materials Specialist. She is trained as an interior designer (NAIT alumni) and, after working in the industry, recognized a need for a new support system to transition the current market to a more sustainable one. In 2006 she started her own consulting firm, EcoAmmo.

Stephani was actively involved with creating the Alberta Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council in 2003 and remained on the board for six years. Stephani is a self proclaimed ‘volunteer-aholic’ and volunteers with many groups including the Clean Air Strategic Alliance where she sat on the Indoor Air Quality committee for 2.5 years. The IAQ team just recently published their report which is the first of its kind in Canada.

With the great demand for EcoAmmo Services in March of 2007 Brandy Burdeniuk made a welcomed addition to EcoAmmo.  Making EcoAmmo a dynamic duo of passionate environmental consultants.

Brandy Burdeniuk is a graduate of the Industrial Design program at the University of Alberta and a LEED® Accredited professional.  Prior to starting EcoAmmo with Stephani Carter in 2007, Brandy worked for three major architectural firms, contributing her knowledge about green products and materials, as well as her outstanding design skills. EcoAmmo is a consulting firm that offers sustainable research and education about the built environment, providing tools and services to educate and excite those who work in the building industry about green design. Although Brandy is young, her passion and knowledge of sustainable design is an important and valuable resource for the industry. She believes that collaboration and diversity is key to finding environmentally sensitive solutions, and since January 2008, Brandy has taught Green Design at the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension, a course she developed with the EcoAmmo team.

As multiple levels of Government in Alberta adopted the LEED® certification standards for their building projects, another influx of proposals allowed us to bring Andrea Pelland onto our EcoAmmo team.

andreaAndrea Pelland graduated from the University of Alberta with an Honours Degree in the History of Art, Design and Visual Culture.  Andrea's main areas of study were the history and theory of sustainable design, architectural rating systems, and sustainable communities.  She has given lectures on surrealist architecture and the Glasgow Four, and believes that design can change the world. Andrea was an active board member of MADE in Edmonton, and has participated in numerous design chartettes regarding the City of Edmonton.  Andrea brings a unique background and fierce organizational skills to EcoAmmo and we are extremely pleased to have her on the team.

As the world feels economic pressures, the green building world ramps up to help make the environment and our economy more sustainable with green jobs, green energy and green building projects. We are delighted to add another expert to our team to help our company help this movement transform the world.
